PHOENIX David Raymond Saksik, 32, of Aubervilliers, France, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stephen M. McNamee to seven years in federal prison. Saksik pleaded guilty on May 29, 2007 to travel in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with minors. He was placed on lifetime supervised release and ordered not to enter the U.S. illegally.
On January 29, 2006, Saksik, who was visiting family in Canada, responded to an ad for a child sex tour in Mexico. The defendant left Montreal, Canada by bus and on February 9, 2006 arrived in Arizona, where he paid $500 for what he thought would be two nights of sex with underage boys in Mexico. After Saksik confirmed his desire to engage in various sex acts with two 11-year old boys, he was arrested by federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The sentencing took place on January 31, 2008. The investigation in this case was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Vincent Q. Kirby, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
