Start Doing Rain Dances

It's time to start doing some serious rain and snow dances. The last I heard, it's been ninety-one days since we had rain. On a more positive note, it did sprinkle in Globe this past weekend and snowed a few inches up in Payson. However, we need snow in the White Mountains in order to fill Roosevelt Lake back to its full mark. Superbowl 2006 is Sunday, February 5, 2006. As of this writing, there are four teams, vying for two spots in the Superbowl match up - the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. Alas, the Patriots were beaten by Denver (we always seem to have trouble winning in the mile high city), and in a surprising twist, Pittsburgh defeated the favored Indianapolis Colts. It will be interesting to see how Pittsburgh and Denver fare against each other in this weekend's match up. Valentine's Day is less than a month away. A card, a box of chocolates, a dozen red roses or any other favorite flower, and/or a sweetheart dinner adds that extra special touch and shows your significant other how much you truly appreciate them. The comments coming in from Boston's Lake House Grill have been very good. The pulled pork sandwich and the ½ orange-roasted chicken dinner are among two popular dishes that have received rave reviews. The restaurant opens every day at 11:00 a.m. and runs lunch and dinner specials. All sandwiches and burgers are served on homemade bread and buns. Stop in and check them out. The restaurant is conveniently located on State Route 188 adjacent to the Spring Creek Store. Until next issue . . . take care.
