Tax time is over, at least until next year. What is they say about "death and taxes" as the only two things certain in life? I heard from a number of people that the campgrounds around the lake were packed over the weekend. Fishing is really picking up. The Roosevelt Lake report (pp 9-10) indicates the lake is at 77%, however, according to Arizona Game & Fish, it has risen to 79%. We're waiting for final figures on snowpack in the White Mountains and will pass that along to readers as soon as we receive it. I would like to express a huge debt of gratitude for the outpouring of concern and for the many prayers that led to the astounding recovery of my mother. I am so incredibly proud to call her mom. Her indomitable spirit, perseverance and wonderful sense of humor got us all through a very scary time. We love you mom! I recently spoke with two Lions' club members about the possibility of forming a local Tonto Basin/Roosevelt chapter of the Lions Club. The first step would be to get 4-5 interested individuals locally to meet with current Lions to discuss what it would take, and how they would go about it. For more information, please call Phil Phillips at 928-474-9201 or District Governor Dick Sawyer at 928-535-5563. Until next issue . . . take care.
