The primaries are over and the fight for various public office seats is underway. This issue includes general information on some of the current ballot measures placed before voters in the general election.
In the U.S. Senate race, Jim Pederson garnered 210,944 votes to Jon Kyl's 292,631. Both candidates are spending huge amounts of money on their campaigns. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out.
The governor's race was uncontested on the democrat side, however, there were four candidates vying for position on the Republican ticket. Len Munsil won that right with 153,501 votes followed by Goldwater with 119,925 votes, Harris with 18,375 and Tupper with 11,075.
We are interviewing Mr. Munsil this week. Look for his comments in the next issue.
The Secretary of State race will pit incumbent Jan Brewer against former Registrar of Contractors director Israel Torres. Mr. Torres recently accused Ms Brewer of using taxpayer funds to promote her campaign. We found this particularly interesting, especially in light of the fact that Torres, a Napolitano puppet, apparently doesn't see anything wrong with the governor plastering her face all over Arizona billboards in the name of promoting tourism.
Incumbent Attorney General Goddard, who received 220,200 votes, will face Montgomery, who won 268,779 votes, in the general election in November.
Last, but certainly not least, Ellen Simon will face incumbent Rick Renzi for the U.S. Representative seat for District 1 (this district). Voters should check out our website. Ms. Simon's husband has been in a good deal of trouble over the years. The more we dig, the more we find. Until next issue . . . take care.
