Elections, Turkeys & Celebrations

The elections are over, and with the exception of a few changes, we continue with the status quo.
We were ecstatic that voters, both Democrats and Republicans, decided to keep Representative Rick Renzi in Congress fighting for District 1.
Other races were incredibly close and we've given readers the numbers from the local elections, as well as from all 19 propositions. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next two years when voters go to the polls again to elect a new president.
Thanksgiving is one week from tomorrow. While many of us look forward to the traditional Thanksgiving feast, football games, and a few extra days off, I hope we realize that this is a time when family and friends unite and give thanks for all we have been given throughout the year, including precious freedom and those fighting abroad to see that we keep it.
On another note, we first began this publication in December 1997. As we approach our 10-year anniversary, we've decided that this publication needs a face lift, not only in terms of overall appearance, but content as well (I promise I will leave the Just to make you smile column). It is my hope that we can finish this project in time for the next issue, which hits the streets on December 6. It's been a work in progress and will continue to be so as we grow in size and circulation.
All of these exciting changes call for a celebration - so on that note - we're planning to have our 10-year anniversary party coincide with the grand opening of Hot Topic Printing (we are in the same building after all). Although we have not yet set the date in stone, we're looking at the early part of next year (between February and April).
Until the next issue . . . take care.
