Spring has sprung and temperatures are heating up around Roosevelt. The latest weather forecasts are calling for highs in the 90's this week. This is a perfect time of year to get out on the water. Indicative of the nice weather, local traffic has also been on the rise as visitors flock to the lake to enjoy all this area has to offer.
Our second feature article gives readers additional information into the Tonto Pass program implemented by the Forest Service last October. Visitors can purchase daily passes and watercraft stickers right here in Roosevelt at Boston's Lake House Grill, adjacent to Spring Creek Store.
The first feature article should excite all visitors who visit Roosevelt Lake via the Beeline Highway. Tonto Basin has a new 17,000 sq ft grocery store, expected to open in time for the Easter weekend crowd. Roosevelt residents may also want to take the beautiful drive along Roosevelt Lake and see for themselves all that the new store has to offer.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank last issue's guest editor for sharing her recent interview experience with Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard. Laughter, as they say, is indeed good for the soul.
Speaking of humor, it seems our President Bush has a keen sense of humor. At a recent radio TV correspondence dinner, President Bush told those present, "A year ago, my approval rating was in the 30's, my nominee for the Supreme Court had just withdrawn, and my vice president had shot someone." Long pause . . . "Ah, those were the good old days."
Regardless of what life throws at us, we have to keep our sense of humor. It is the all-time stress buster! So until next issue, find some laughter in your life.
