Tucson, Arizona The Pima County Health Department is trying to reach the approximately 1,700 people who might have been exposed to measles. After a visitor to Tucson spent time at Northwest Medical Center, 6200 N. La Cholla Blvd and was confirmed to have measles, patients or visitors to the Center are being asked to contact the Health Department.
As measles is highly contagious through the air, the Pima County Health Department continues to work with Northwest Medical Center to follow up on possible exposures. Anyone who may have spent time as a patient or visitor at the Northwest Medical Center on La Cholla Blvd., between February 12 15, is asked to call the Health Department at 243-7808, between 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, to review their immunization/illness history and to determine if they may have been exposed.
From February 22 through February 25, roughly 450 calls have been received from those who think they may have been exposed, with another 350 out-going calls made by staff.
