I am disgusted by Congressman Jeff Flake and the far left Luis Gutierrezs betrayal to America and their constituents by proposing the Security Through Regularized and a Vibrant Economy Act; In other words "Cheap labor."
The Heritage Foundation and NumbersUSA report: Each illegal alien given "legal" status and eventually citizenship can bring up to 273 additional immigrants under the Family Unification Act and at a cost of over $3.9 trillion dollars in additional social program costs to America. Do the math. That is based on 12 million, and we have over 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. This is importing welfare recipients by the bus load; they tend to use welfare and other social programs at over 3 times the rate of native born citizens.
"I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL ¦¦DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; .............. SO HELP ME GOD." Someone had their fingers crossed.
Instead of fixing a problem created by federal negligence, the STRIVE Act corrects their oversight by decriminalizing illegal border crossing and grants millions of illegals amnesty.
This piece of legislation may as well be called the Security Through Running and Ignoring Virtually Everything Act. The disregard for our southern border has allowed an unmitigated flood of illegal aliens, crime and drugs into our communities.
The Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act is Amnesty PlusÂÂÂ. Any illegal currently in the country can apply for a six-year conditional work visa and citizenship after five years. Eligibility requires proof you broke our immigration laws, our employment laws, tax laws, committed identity theft, all before June of 2006, and have no "felonies" aside from those infractions, and pay a $500 fine.
One alien can legally bring in their immediate family, their extended family; their extended families can bring in their families and so on. Enforcement is irrelevant at this point since anyone with a family tree could legally enter the United States.
To make sure that no illegal remains undocumented, STRIVE includes the failed AgJOBS Act and DREAM Act. AgJOBS makes sure that the influx of low-wage workers doesnt undercut unions negotiating power, and DREAM makes sure that all illegal aliens are eligible for visas, citizenship and in-state tuition at colleges. Also welfare and social security grants will be available to teach U.S. history and English as a second language.
The situation at the Arizona border has reached a critical mass and the STRIVE Act is focused on securing an open border and educating illegals on how to cross a closed one.
We have failed to secure our border; our National Guard is only allowed to be spectators, while gangs of illegals smuggle people and drugs and have shootouts in city streets.
I suggest The STRIVE Act should be scrapped and try something new, like enforcing our laws, going after illegal employers and stopping the free handouts; no free medical, no free school, no food stamps, no welfare, let's put America first and foremost.
As the former chief deputy of the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office, I know the value of handcuffs, if they are on the right people. Demand your elected/appointed officials take them off from our police officers and put them on the law violators.
Also, this legislation is a furtherance of the North American Union, which is a destruction of our sovereignty and elimination of our borders as we know them and is an attack on states rights with a pre-emption clause that forbids the states from enforcing these laws.
We are a nation of laws. We must have the courage the fortitude to enforce, with compassion but without apology, those laws that protect the integrity of our borders and our rights as lawful citizens.
I call on all law abiding citizens across this great state to join us in a "Citizens Initiative" effort to curb the hiring of illegal aliens and to allow our law enforcement to enforce the law www.azgrassroots.com .
