Arizona Diamondbacks released their 2009 Training Centers summer camp schedule which will include 91 baseball and fast-pitch softball camps throughout Arizona. The D-backs also added an intermediate level to the baseball schedule for kids 10-13 years old, with a modified camp curriculum to better serve the skills of every player.
Each five-day camp focuses on comprehensive baseball and fast-pitch softball fundamentals.
Participants learn the basics of hitting, fielding, pitching and more with at least one instructor for every 10 children in attendance. Each camp day and session is choreographed to maximize participation and activity time and is structured to provide the best learning environment for each child. The instructors are handpicked by the D-backs organization from a group of former professional players and local collegiate and high school coaches.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Training Centers, presented by Grand Canyon University, are the official youth baseball and fast-pitch softball camps of the D-backs. In 10 years, more than 30,000 kids have learned to play the D-backs way. From basic to advanced fundamentals, the training programs are designed to meet Arizonas baseball and fast-pitch softball needs.
The camp costs $150 ($185 for advanced camps) and includes the registration fee, 15 hours of instruction, D-backs T-shirt, hat and a ticket to a select D-backs home game. Camps are open to kids six to 13 years old for the regular and intermediate camps and 13-18 years old for the advanced camps. Discounts are available for groups of three or more children.
Enrollment for each camp is limited. For more information and to register visit dbacks.com/camps.
