Phoenix International Relations Director Elected to Board of Directors

Paula West, city of Phoenix International Relations Office executive director, was elected to her second three-year term on the board of directors of Sister Cities International and also elected to the boards executive committee at the recent Sister Cities International 2010 annual conference in New Mexico. West formerly served as Sister Cities Internationals Arizona state coordinator and was a founder and former president of the Arizona Sister Cities State Chapter. Sister Cities International facilitates nearly 2,000 partnerships in 136 countries on six continents between 600 communities in the United States with similar municipalities abroad. Sister Cities International represents citizen diplomats who work tirelessly to promote the organizations mission of creating world peace and cultural understanding through economic and sustainable development programs, youth and education projects, arts and culture, as well as humanitarian assistance.
